After an accident in 1984 left him without the use of his legs, Colin Wilson received an outpouring of community support and has since spent his life devoted to paying it forward. Colin’s tenacity and unwavering drive to enrich others’ lives will make him a strong voice for all residents of Barrie—Innisfil.

Colin has served on the boards of numerous community organizations, including as vice-president of the Huronia Symphony Orchestra, treasurer of the AIDS Committee of Simcoe County, and chair of the Allandale Neighbourhood Association. As director of the Innisfil Arts, Culture & Heritage Council, he oversaw initiatives which help to ensure individuals, groups, and organizations in the community have the resources to reach their full creative, social, and economic potential.

Colin earned his diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Georgian College and has been certified as an Engineering and Manufacturing Technologist. Colin has a long history as a machine designer in the local Simcoe County automotive industry, and for the last 13 years, he has served our nation as a Senior Advisor within the Federal Public Service. He is also a dedicated father to his 19 year old daughter Allie.
